With the new season upon us and a new desire to lean more plant-based in our eating, my joy in the kitchen reignited. Going hand in hand with this came my need to purge and reassess my 储藏室 contents, much like I recently did with 我的厨柜. As much as I tried to deny it, my 储藏室 had become quite the disaster zone. Exhibit A:

It is hard for me to enjoy the cooking process with such a mess hiding below the surface (or a closed door). Plus, with my new veggie-heavy focus, I needed to assess what I had and what I needed to stock up 上 . Though I tried to put it off for a few weeks, I knew a total overhaul was inevitable. Categorizing my 储藏室 contents and putting each item in a proper place felt freeing. I am now able to easily see what I have and what I need. I feel prepared to get in the kitchen knowing that all my kitchen staples for healthy and organic eating are stocked and ready to be used.

First up, my favorite visual of the 储藏室, the bulk goods section.

    Our house did not come with a 储藏室, oddly enough. My dad built 上 e for us out of our coat closet and I love it so much I also have tendency to just open the door and stare at it.     Wowzers‼️‼️‼️ What a difference an organized, clean 储藏室 does for your soul. Mine currently looks like your before picture and the 上 going problem I have is I tend to buy doubles/ triples of things because I can’t remember what I have.

    When we looked at houses 上 e of the biggest items 上 my list was a 储藏室 after living in a little townhouse with no 储藏室. Of course the house we fell in love with has no 储藏室 either! We ahve tons of cabinets though so thankfully we have plenty of space for a 储藏室 cabinet – but it’s a huge mess!

    So yes, my 储藏室 is in dire need of organization too. My 烘烤 cabinet got an overhaul 上 ce we finished with baby bottles, and now it’s time for the 储藏室.

    A 储藏室 is 上 e of the things this house is lacking, but we have plenty of cabinet space and a few shelves in the basement for extra staples.

It contains: peanut and almond butter (several almost empty jars), beans that expired 2 years ago, pasta, more pasta, but no pasta souse, things I actually use almost every day for a smoothie like: chia seeds, Maqui and Acai powder, Maca powder. Baking supplies: flour, sugar, corn starch, 烘烤 soda and powder. Collection of vinegars, tomato soup, cereal, Italiani Gnocchi, and about 30 different size empty glass bottles and containers that I did not want to waste and throw away, because 上 e day, I will get to use them…

    What are your favorite 储藏室 staples?
    Well I have a ton of 储藏室 staples, but my favorite has to be pasta, my seasonings and sauces/dressings/condiments. We are a big Dipper family, so we have tons of hot sauces, salad dressings, and dipping sauces. We don’t add much salt to our dishes because we have such of variety of seasonings, which we keep 上 the backside of the 储藏室 door. But I use the same white bins as you, such a clean look. I will most definitely be getting some of those acrylic bins though, love the way those look vs the Tupperware containers I have now.
